Art meets – for artists looking for a discussion forum

The format will be (loosely) a preliminary talk/ presentation but an artist/group of artists and then discussion – please bring some work if you would like some feedback.

Topics for the forthcoming sessions are:

• Saturday 30 September 16-17.30: Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet – available here – continue discussion – art advice, what could it be, is it useful, what would we like it to be?
• Saturday 4 November 16 – 17:30 : Colour
• Saturday 16 December 16: 17:30: Art and Impact – Climate considerations

We had our first inaugural meet on 18 March led by Lorna Goldsmith and we discussed a range of topics. Many artists would like to discuss their work to get some feedback from the group, some would like to think about working collaboratively, art and the business of selling and marketing. It was also suggested thinking (if practical) on working on an art project together – an exciting prospect.

Past sessions included

• Sunday 23rd April  16-17.30: Sources of Inspiration, Isabel
• Saturday 3rd June  16-17.30: Magdalena Abakanowicz and The Fibre Art movement, Lorna
• Saturday 8th July 16-17.30: Digital art – Anyone who would like to contribute to this, please let us know
• Saturday 12th August 16-17.30: Poetry and Art – starting to discuss Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet – available here – Works of Joan Mitchel

Please send any further topics or ideas to Isabel or Lorna so they can incorporate in future sessions
