A Paint & PRINT workshop with karen Carter
Tuesday 24 September 2024 – 10am to 1pm – £40
This workshop is suitable for adults.
A fun workshop creating lively and colourful images using gel-plate printing, simple line monoprinting techniques, a splash of paint and a bit of spattering!
We will use leaves, seedheads and flowers as our inspiration – and also to print with, to make a lovely folded book from a single sheet of paper.
The techniques we use are also perfect for making mini works of art or greetings cards.
A relaxed creative workshop – no experience necessary (and you don’t need to be able to draw!)
There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction in this fun and informal workshop.
What to bring?
- Watercolour paper or mixed media paper or heavy cartridge (approx. 200gsm)
- Scissors & craft knife (tutor will have some to borrow)
- Acrylic paints – whatever you have – if buying specially just buy primary colours and white
- Paintbrushes (whatever you have – the tutor will also bring some)
- Mixing palette /old plate, brushes (whatever you have)
- Kitchen roll
- Thin biro or gel pen
The tutor will bring printing materials and gel-plates for you to borrow

If you feel unwell please carry out a test and don’t attend if positive to avoid contagion as far as possible of our more vulnerable customers.
Cancellation policy.
Please note that a ticketing fee of £2 is included in the price of this workshop and this is not refundable in any circumstance.
If you are unable to attend the workshop and you cancel your attendance more than two weeks prior to the workshop, the ticketing fee above will be retained. If you cancel less than two weeks before the workshop no fees are refundable.
In the event of City Arts having to cancel the workshop due to participants’ numbers falling below the minimum requirement or government advice changes, we will refund the whole workshop amount.
