A Book of Autumn

A Paint & PRINT workshop with karen Carter

Tuesday 5 Novemberr 2024 – 10am to 1pm – £40

This workshop is suitable for adults.

Create a multi-layered mixed media piece of work in this fun and informal workshop – no experience necessary (and you don’t need to be able to draw!)

We will use acrylic paints to create a lovely book of autumn-inspired images using simple printing methods, some loose and sploshy painting and a little bit of detail with dip pens or fineliners.

We will play with rich autumn colours – learn some basic colour mixing to create a vibrant palette – and combine a variety of techniques to make a unique folded book from a single sheet of paper.

This will can be a piece of work in its own right or a perfect gift or elaborate greetings card for someone special.
 
There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction, with room to play and interpret the subject in your own way.

What to bring?

  • Watercolour or mixed media paper or cartridge paper (approx. 200gsm)
  • Acrylic paints or watercolours  – whatever you have – if buying specially just buy primary colours and white (the tutor will also bring some)
  • Mixing palette, brushes (whatever you have),
  • Kitchen roll, scissors & apron
  • Autumn leaves, conkers, rosehips (anything with an autumn connection) to use as a starting point

The tutor will supply all other tools and materials that you need for this session

Covid prevention

If you feel unwell please carry out a test and don’t attend if positive to avoid contagion as far as possible of our more vulnerable customers.

Cancellation policy.

Please note that a ticketing fee of £2 is included in the price of this workshop and this is not refundable in any circumstance.

If you are unable to attend the workshop and you cancel your attendance more than two weeks prior to the workshop, the ticketing fee above will be retained.  If you cancel less than two weeks before the workshop no fees are refundable.

In the event of City Arts having to cancel the workshop due to participants’ numbers falling below the minimum requirement or government advice changes, we will refund the whole workshop amount.
