Glass Fusing Workshops with Shirley Eccles
Tuesdays 3 June to 1 July 2025 10am to 1pm – £60 single session + £5 firing/piece as needed (payable to the tutor on the day). See topics for each date below.
Booking for each session ends the Wednesday before the class.
These sessions are for adults (18+)
During these workshops you will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of different glass making techniques. No previous experience is needed and it is suitable for both beginners and the more advance glass makers.
We will explore different techniques and making processes in glass fusing and slumping, how to create the effects and what materials are needed.
Demonstrations will be given and you will be guided on glass cutting techniques and how to set up your glass to create the different effects.
You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of glass materials as well as other materials and oxides that are compatible with glass.
All tools and materials will be provided.
Many of the pieces will go through two firing processes and you will have a choice of moulds to select from for the 2nd Firing/slumping process. Or you may wish to create a wall-based piece.
Your pieces will be taken away for firing and returned the City Arts for collection

Cancellation policy.
Please note that a ticketing fee of £5 is included in the price of this workshop and this is not refundable in any circumstance.
If you are unable to attend the workshop and you cancel your attendance more than two weeks prior to the workshop, the ticketing fee above will be retained. If you cancel less than two weeks before the workshop no fees are refundable.
In the event of City Arts having to cancel the workshop due to participants’ numbers falling below the minimum requirement or government advice changes, we will refund the whole workshop amount.
