Dec 24 / Jan 25 update

Happy Christmas from all of us at City Arts Newbury!
It has been a great year for our creativity at City Arts Newbury.

In 2024, we were able to offer 48 free Friday Art sessions at the Hub  over the year, as well as 20 Creative Thursdays 2024 sessions for over 65s living alone and a further 20 sessions as part of Warm Spaces in  Autumn and Winter.
For children we run 2 toddler Budding Artists sessions at Victoria Park School early in 2024 and 5 activities linked to our exhibitions for children at St Nicholas School.
All the above free sessions are possible due to donations via the West Berkshire Community Fund and the Good Exchange and we hope to be able to continue their offer in 2025

We are truly appreciative of everyone’s generosity which helps us bring art into peoples lives to make them richer and less stressful.

We wish you loads of peace, health and creativity for 2025 and we showcase below some of the forthcoming courses in early 2025 available to book on our website.

Community Art Hub Café
In 2024 we have increased our workforce and welcomed Alex as café manager and Lucette as supervisor, in March/ April 2024. When Lucette left in September we welcomed Rosemary who started in November 2024.
Our Community Art Hub Café now opens Thurs to Sun 10am and 4pm
If you come in to taste our home made bakes and quality coffee and tea, you will have noticed the increase on the offer of bakes, both sweet and savoury as well as the recent addition of homemade soup.

The Art Hub Café will only be closed on Thursday 26 December during this Christmas period and we reopen as normal on the 27th December 2024

We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers, who help in the café, baking, making merchandise, hanging exhibitions and much more… Thank you all!

If you wish to join the team do get in touch, you can talk to us at the V365 Volunteer Fair event that will take place at The Corn Exchange, Newbury on 11 January 2025 10am to 2:30pm
