A collection of sculpted faces made from clay, showcasing a variety of expressions and features arranged together.

Our 10 Hours of Art event is a special day where we will be making a community project to hang at City Arts Newbury with your help

We’ will start in the morning (3 sessions of 1 hr at 10am , 11am and 12 noon) making the “community” – a series of tiles with faces,  made of clay with the help of Katherine Kingdon  – The tiles will be left at City Arts , Katherine will fire them and they will hang together as a community wall (we have a board where we will fix them all together)

In the afternoon we will make the word ART as a giant 3D artwork with Sabrina (in 3 x 1 hr sessions at 1:30pm, 2:30 pm and 3:30pm) – We will use cardboard and upcycled colour coordinated elements to make each letter one colour (Red, Yellow, Blue) The  letters will be then be fixed on a panel to go up the main double height space in the cafĂ© area.

And in the evening,  there will be 2 x 1.5hr sessions with Sarah (at 5pm and 7pm)  to make a collective large willow woven heart to hang between the ART and the Community.

We thank you in advance for your participation and support
The artwork will represent us all at City Arts as a collective where Art and Community come together.

If you can we’d welcome a ÂŁ10 donation per person and workshop to help us cover the artist fees and materials costs)
Any surplus will go towards our charitable activities in the community in 2026 (like Free Art Fridays/Creative Thursdays for adults or Budding Artists/Art Shed for children).
