Let’s Paint with Jane Baikie 2026

A painting workshop with Jane Baikie

Tuesdays 27 Jan 24 Feb and 28 Apr – 10am to 1pm – ÂŁ45 per session

This workshop is suitable for adults.

These acrylic painting workshops are suitable for beginners or more experienced painters.
All techniques will be explained and materials provided.

In January you will learn how to mix interesting neutral greys and cool colours to describe the atmospheric winter months. We shall be building texture  and movement into the  skies, so channel your inner ‘Turner’ and have fun with paint. 

In February – Loosen up your painting style!We shall be explore  the marks we make and the versatility of the materials we use. Do you mostly stick to the same subjects, if so,  it’s time to explore where else your painting practice can take you. Acrylic paints,  oil pastels and charcoal and collage will be covered in this messy session.  

In April – It is Spring time, so we shall be mixing fresh colours using a limited palette of primary colours. Green is a difficult one and many artists avoid it, so you will learn how to mix subtle greens that are not easy to find in ready made acrylic paints. Other colours will be used that will complement  green.

Cancellation policy.

Please note that a ticketing fee of ÂŁ2 is included in the price of this workshop and this is not refundable in any circumstance.

If you are unable to attend the workshop and you cancel your attendance more than two weeks prior to the workshop, the ticketing fee above will be retained.  If you cancel less than two weeks before the workshop no fees are refundable.

In the event of City Arts having to cancel the workshop due to participants’ numbers falling below the minimum requirement or government advice changes, we will refund the whole workshop amount.
