Ecoprinting for Beginners 2026

Ecoprinting workshop with sandra Grant

Saturday 6 June 2026 10:30am to 3:30pm – £65

This workshop is suitable for Adults (18+).

Eco-printing is a wonderful technique that uses only natural solutions and leaves to produce stunning prints of leaves. In this workshop, you will eco-print your own silk scarf in beautiful natural colours, learn the process involved in eco-printing, and deepen your understanding of creating sustainably with nature.
You will learn:

  • Which leaves are best to use for successful eco-prints
  • How to prepare and bundle your fabric using a sustainable plastic-free method
  • How to process and wash your scarf, resulting in a unique design, permanently printed on silk in beautiful natural colours
  • You will also take away a mini kit to try out the technique at home.

Please bring…

  • An apron
  • An old bath towel about 1.5 m in length
  • Leaves
(I will bring some leaves that I call ‘reliable printers’, but to reduce over-foraging in my local area it
would be useful if you could bring a few too. This will also make your scarf more personal to you.)
It is important to choose leaves that are high in tannin such as:
  • Rose
  • Sycamore
  • Oak
  • Bramble leaves
  • Cotinus (smoke bush)
  • Hawthorn
  • Acers
  • Ash
