Slab and Slip Clay Workshop

One Day workshop with Katherine Kingdon

Saturday 20 June 2026, 10am to 4pm, £70 + £5/person firing charge on the day.
This workshop is for adults (18+)

During the workshop you’ll learn about slab-building with clay and explore slip (liquid clay) decoration techniques. Experience the joy of paper resist and the magic of newspaper printing and come away with a unique, hand-made, hand decorated pot.

Pieces will be taken away for firing and can be collected from City Arts at a later date.

Please note that the collection date is likely to be over a month due to the process and drying time. The pieces have to dry thoroughly. That depends on the weather and the size of the piece. They are then fired twice, with glazing etc added between the two firings. Katherine needs to wait for a full load of the kiln as it is uneconomical and not very green to fire it half empty.
We email you when the pieces are ready for collection from City Arts!
