A collage Paint Print workshop with karen Carter

This workshop is suitable for adults.
Create a multi-layered mixed media piece of work in this fun and informal workshop – no experience necessary (and you don’t need to be able to draw!)
We will use acrylic paints to create layers of colour, combined with collage elements using a mix of repurposed papers and some we have coloured and printed ourselves. We will add simple printed patterns to represent marks and features in the landscape and work over the top of this with drawn and painted elements to provide detail and focal points. The result will be a quirky stylized landscape….this workshop isn’t about creating a realistic scene, but having fun with materials and mixed media techniques.
There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction, with room to play and interpret the subject in your own way.
What to bring?
- Heavy watercolour or mixed media paper (approx. 220gsm)
- Lightweight patterned & plain coloured papers for collage including old book pages – whatever you have – the tutor will also bring some. We will also be painting and printing our own papers.
- Acrylic paints – whatever you have – if buying specially just buy primary colours and white
- Mixing palette, brushes (whatever you have), glue brush, drawing pencil
- Kitchen roll, scissors & craft knife if you have one
- Inspiration / source material to use as a starting point

Cancellation policy.
Please note that a ticketing fee of £2 is included in the price of this workshop and this is not refundable in any circumstance.
If you are unable to attend the workshop and you cancel your attendance more than two weeks prior to the workshop, the ticketing fee above will be retained. If you cancel less than two weeks before the workshop no fees are refundable.
In the event of City Arts having to cancel the workshop due to participants’ numbers falling below the minimum requirement or government advice changes, we will refund the whole workshop amount.
