a SEWING workshop with VAL CROAL
Sunday 21 April 2024 – 10 to 1pm , £40 + bring fabric
This workshop is for adults.
Learn to make a set of cotton patchwork quilted table mats (or sew them together as a table runner). Design and sew a unique set of 1ft square place mats, or join them to make a table runner (approx. 5ft x 1ft), this can be made shorter or longer by adding more squares/variations on mat size.
Val will bring equipment to share as well as two sewing machines. She will also provide the wadding. but see below for materials needed.
Materials required:
About half a metre of three cotton fabrics will be required, as well as any cutting mats, rotary blades, pins and sewing equipment that the participant has.

About Val
Val loves sewing and started when she was a child, a few years ago! She holds a City and Guilds in Fashion and Patchwork Quilting. She always has something to make on the go and has taught many friends and family members over the years to make home furnishings and simple clothes. She loves creating and design and looks forward to this new venture at City Arts Newbury to help you create great things with fabric to take home and enjoy.

If you feel unwell please carry out a test and don’t attend if positive to avoid contagion as far as possible of our more vulnerable customers.
Cancellation policy.
Please note that a ticketing fee of £2 is included in the price of this workshop and this is not refundable in any circumstance.
If you are unable to attend the workshop and you cancel your attendance more than two weeks prior to the workshop, the ticketing fee above will be retained. If you cancel less than two weeks before the workshop no fees are refundable.
In the event of City Arts having to cancel the workshop due to participants’ numbers falling below the minimum requirement or government advice changes, we will refund the whole workshop amount.
