This workshop is suitable for adults.
When life hands you lemons, make art with them!
A fun workshop exploring a myriad of ways to work with a lemon as your inspiration – be amazed at what you can do with just one thing!
In addition to being essential for gin & tonic and lemon curd, this humble fruit can be the starting point for printing, painting, pattern and much more.
We will observe it, dissect it, peel it and push it to it’s lemony limits!
Covering a variety of techniques and approaches we will create a collection of images that can be collated into a simple book or used in their own right as cards and wall art. We will look at mandalas, printed designs, colour mixing and paint techniques, as well as making a super-easy pocket book.
Join us for a light-hearted look at lovely lemons and see what you can squeeze out of them!
Absolutely no experience needed for this fun and informal workshop…..just grab yourself a lemon and have a play!
What to bring?
- Lemons!
- A3 Watercolour paper or mixed media paper or heavy cartridge (several sheets)
- Scissors & craft knife (tutor will have some to borrow)
- Paint
- Acrylic paints – whatever you have – if buying specially just buy primary colours and white, or
- Tube watercolours plus a tube of white gouache
- Mixing palette /old plate, brushes (whatever you have)
- Kitchen roll, water pot
- Thin biro or gel pen and hard and soft pencil e.g 2H and 2B if you have them
- A compass if you have one (not essential)
The tutor will bring printing materials / dip pens / mediums etc

If you feel unwell please carry out a test and don’t attend if positive to avoid contagion as far as possible of our more vulnerable customers.
Cancellation policy.
Please note that a ticketing fee of £2 is included in the price of this workshop and this is not refundable in any circumstance.
If you are unable to attend the workshop and you cancel your attendance more than two weeks prior to the workshop, the ticketing fee above will be retained. If you cancel less than two weeks before the workshop no fees are refundable.
In the event of City Arts having to cancel the workshop due to participants’ numbers falling below the minimum requirement or government advice changes, we will refund the whole workshop amount.
